Abstract
Hansheng Lei got his B.S. and M.S. degree from Ocean University of China in 1998 and University of Science and Technology of China in 2001 respectively, both in computer science. He has been studying for Ph.D. degree in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University at Buffalo, State University of New York since Sep. 2001.

His research interests include but are not limited to: biometrics, pattern recognition, data mining and machine learning.

  1. October 21st, 2005, PhD dissertation Sequential Pattern Classification Without Explicit Feature Extraction was defended.
  2. April 30th, 2005. Similarity-driven Sequence Classification Based on Support Vector Machines and Its Application in Adaptive On-line Handwriting Recognition submitted to ICDAR'05 was accepted.
  3. March 31st, 2005. A Study on the Consistency of Features for On-line Signature Verification extended to Pattern Recognition Letters was accepted with minor revisions.
  4. March 6th, 2005. Half-Against-Half Multi-class Support Vector Machines submitted to MCS'05 was accepted.
  5. Feb 18th, 2005. Speeding Up Multi-class SVM by PCA and Feature Selection submitted to FSDM'05 was accepted.
  6. Jan 18th, 2005. Matching and Retrieving Linear Patterns Under Regression (extended) submitted to journal of WIAS was accepted.
