You are invited to attend The 5th ACM Conference on Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, and Health Informatics (ACM BCB). ACM BCB is the main flagship conference of the ACM SIGBio (ACM Special Interest Group on Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, and Biomedical Informatics). ACM BCB 2014 is in its fifth year, building upon the success of ACM BCB 2010 in Niagara Falls, ACM BCB 2011 in Chicago, ACM BCB 2012 in Orlando and ACM BCB 2013 in Washington DC.

The conference will provide a premier forum for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research encompassing disciplines of computer science, mathematics, statistics, biology, bioinformatics, and health informatics.

ACM BCB 2014 welcomes original submissions that have not been published or under review. Examples of relevant topics include the following, but are not limited to the areas of:

Bioinformatics Track

  • Sequencing and Analysis Methods
  • Gene Regulation and Transcription
  • Functional Genomics
  • Population, Evolution, and Comparative Genomics

Computational and Translational Bioinformatics Track

  • Protein and RNA Structure and Function
  • Computational Systems Biology
  • Biomedical Image Analysis
  • Translational Bioinformatics

Health Informatics Track

  • Medical Informatics and Medical Records
  • Knowledge Bases and Text Mining
  • Mobile Health and Sensor Applications
  • Population Health and Public Health Informatics

Common Methods and Systems Track

  • Cross-Cutting Computational Methods
  • Knowledge Representation and Machine Learning
  • Databases and Integration of Biomedical Data
  • Bioinformatics and Healthcare Infrastructure

The authors of selected papers will be invited to adapt their papers for being published in a special issue of IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (TCBB), a special issue of IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics (J-BHI), and a virtual issue of the DATABASE journal.
