CSE 111 - Fall 2002

Lab #6

Background

Let's look at the last program we will explore from the Microsoft Office package, PowerPoint..

The TA will begin lab by introducing some of the ideas that you will need to complete the lab.  Ask the TA if you have any questions about the contents of the lab, or if you are unsure how to accomplish a specific task.  Please also refer to the PowerPoint book from the class as all of the tasks you are asked to do are explained in that book.

Creating a Folder for Lab 6

Please refer back to the directions in Lab 1 if you don't remember how to create a folder. Create a folder in CSE111 entitled Lab6 that you will save all your Lab 6 work in.

Creating a Presentation

You will create a PowerPoint Presentation on a subject of your choice containing the following elements:

  1. At least 5 slides

  2. At least 3 different slide layouts (at least one slide layout must incorporate a picture, clip art, or chart)

  3. A slide theme

  4. Slide footers with the date and slide number

  5. At least 2 different slide transitions.  You should not use random for this - you will receive no credit if you do.

  6. At least 1 slide should use the pre-set animations that come with PowerPoint.

  7. For at least 1 slide, you should define a custom-animation scheme.

  8. For at least 1 slide, you should create speaker notes for the slide.

What should I hand in and when is this due?

You should save your document to your Lab6 folder with the name "111Presentation.ppt".  Again, for this lab, we are asking that you hand in the presentation on a disk.  Save the entire Lab6 directory and its contents to your floppy disk.  Make sure your name is on the disk and hand it to your TA at the beginning of your recitation next week.

Refer to the list of due dates below for your recitation.
