The Wireless Networking and Systems Lab at the University at Buffalo (UB WiNS Lab) conducts research in the areas of experimental wireless networking and mobile computing. Our focus is on high performance/energy efficient protocol design and implementation, testbed prototyping, and measurement-based performance characterization. Our research spans multiple types of wireless networks (mesh networks, 802.11 WLANs, smartphone networking, cognitive radio networks, mobile ad hoc networks, sensor networks, and underwater acoustic networks). We are interested in practical problems accross different layers of the network stack (MAC, routing, transport, and applications), as well as in cross-layer interactions.
