2007 Media Coverage
- The book Algorithms Sequential & Parallel: A Unified Approach,
co-authored by Russ Miller and Larry Boxer is listed in
An Anthology of Recognition: The First Annual Salute to UB Authors.
- Spring: An article in the Spring 2007 issue of UB Engineering
entitled "NYSGrid: A Cyberinfrastructure Initiative for the 21st Century,"
states that 19 New York institutions have joined to create a grass-roots
organization dedicated to cyberinfrastructure. Further, many of these
organizations have joined the New York State Grid, developed by
Dr. Russ Miller's
Cyberinfrastructure Research Group (see Dr. Miller's Cyberinfrastructure Laboratory).
Dr. Miller is quoted in the article as saying that "the digital revolution
is data-driven and has permeated all aspects of society - from
research to education, from entertainment to doing business. NYSGrid will
provide researers, teachers, students, and communities with the tools needed
to navigate and excel in our data-drive, knowledge-based economy."
The article goes on to define cyberinfrastructure and the advantages of
pooling resources across New York State.
- May 10: An
article appears in the Reporter
listing the more than 150 faculty, including Dr. Russ Miller,
who published books between January 1, 2005 and now. The article lists
the books of these faculty and describes the reception.
