Dr. Chunming Qiao leads a group at LANDER (Lab for Advanced Network Design, Evaluation and Research), which conducts research on advanced networking architectures, protocols, network control and management issues, and performance evaluation. The focus of the Lab is on enabling and emerging networking technologies that are a key to modern computer communications, telecommunications and the convergence of the two, such as:
Currently active projects include Optical Burst Switching for IP over WDM,
protection/restoration at the WDM layer, multicasting in WDM,
next generation wireless systems, cellular and mobile ad hoc networks.
The research activities have attracted fundings and interests
from
Alcatel,
Nokia,
Nortelnetworks,
Telcordia,
and National Science Foundation (NSF).
