Topics to be covered including but not limited to the design and evaluation of algorithms for dimensioning and provisioning of (survivable) Infrastructure as a Services (IaaS), architectures and protocols for (optically-switched) Intra- and Inter- Data Center Networking (DCN, and experiments and implementations of wireless/mobile cloud computing.
Cloud computing has many advantages and also poses as many open problems. It is quickly becoming one of the hottest topics in today's ICT world, and many companies, large or small, are working on this and so are research groups. This seminar will consist of a couple of introductory lectures and the students are expected to find, read and present papers on related topics, participate in discussions, and do a course project. Grading will be based on class participation, presentation and project.

CSE 620 (Advacned Netwokring Concepts) or equivalent, or a combination of CSE 589 (Modern Networking Concepts) and some domain knowledge in any of the three topics mentioned.
