There are multiple advisement units across the campus that serve student advisement needs. Also, there are many online tools available to help the students.
Undergraduate students in an approved CSE major can seek advisement through CSE Undergraduate Adviser Donna Grant or CSE Director of Undergraduate Studies Dr. Atri Rudra for program-specific advisement. For all other advisements pertaining to General University Requirements, students should visit the SEAS Academic Advisement Office at 410 Bonner Hall.
If you are a current UB student who has not been accepted into CSE or an Engineering major, you should contact Student Advising Services for advisement. Once you have satisfied the SEAS admission criteria, you may schedule an appointment to meet with one of the SEAS advisors in Bonner Hall.
These online tools can help you to plan out your courses at UB. Please note that these do not take the place of an advising appointment and do not guarantee completion of degree requirements.
These flowsheets show the recommended sequence of degree requirements for our different CSE programs. These interactive online versions will highlight pre-requisite and co-requisite courses to help identify which courses must be completed before moving forward. Details of the program and degree requirements are detailed in the Undergraduate Degree & Course Catalog.
Your Academic Advising Report shows you all of the courses you have taken at UB, as well as all of the transfer credit that you have on your student record. If you are thinking of taking coursework at a different institution, you should check in TAURUS prior to registering to insure that the course will transfer in to UB. Please check with 410 Bonner Hall if you have any questions as to the accuracy of your report.
