Next it was the Elmwood Strip's turn to throw a party. The Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts has more of a local flavor than the Allentown Arts Festival. Here, we see the Capoeira Mandinga Buffalo members performing the Capoeira with some breathtaking moves. This dance/martial art form was developed centuries ago by African slaves in Brazil, who couldn't learn martial arts for self-defense, so invented this "dance" form to fool their owners. It worked for about 330 years before being banned in 1930s. The Spot Coffee (in the background) is a WNY establishment. Good atmosphere; great place to hangout and chill.
