About Me

I am beginning my 5th year as a PhD student at UB in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. I am participating in the Ph.D Track Program in Cognitive Science. Prior to UB I received an M.A. in Psychology and an M.S. in Computer Science, both from Boston University. My areas of research include Applied Ontology, and Knowledge Representation and Reasoning. I am interested in developing methods for applying formal ontological theories to practical domain modeling, with the assistance of logical reasoners. My dissertation advisor is Dr. Stuart C. Shapiro, and I am a member of SNeRG (The SNePS Research Group). The best way to contact me is to send email to apseyed AT buffalo DOT com.
