About Me

I have just received my doctorate in Computer Science at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
I now have to look for a job.

On April 27, 1999, I sucessfully defended my dissertation. My work is mainly with Stylus Generated Images and fits into Image Processing/Computer Vision.

I went to Stuyvesant High School in New York City. I graduated in 1987.

I am part of a group of friends known as csgeeks.

I'm an avid reader. I'm usually a science fiction and fantasy person, but I try to diversify myself when I have the time.

Wedding

In November of '94 I got engaged to my boyfriend of 4 years, Davin Milun.

We got married on November 4, 1995. I changed my name from Elyse Podnos to Elyse Milun. Take a look at some wedding photos.

I am starting to compile a Podnos family tree page. I am just starting on it and I have a lot more to type in.

The Car

We have a 1995 Saturn. We are very happy with it. Its a Blue/Black SL1 w/ gray interior. Its an automatic w/ AC, Cruise Control, ABS, Stereo Cassette and Power Locks. The main reason we got the Locks is that Davin is lazy/rude and doesn't want to walk around and open the door for me.

Fun Stuff

I used to be a TV-aholic, but I've cut down on my habit quite a bit. There are few TV-shows that I still watch or try to watch. My favorite show is Babylon 5, created by J. M. Straczynski. It is one of the best shows on TV these days and is the best SF show around. It also needs your support. Here is a page for links to pages for shows that I watch. I'm starting to put together a recipe page. Right now its just links to random sites.

My CD collection is ever growing. At this point I think I am at about 225 CDs. Here are some of my newest additions. Eventually I'll put a listing of my whole collection up, but not now.

Davin and I collect Babylon 5 trading cards. Here is the current state of our collection.
