Unapparent
Information Revelation December 2003 - present |
|
Ongoing effort to mine the web
documents to locate any unintentional leakage of sensitive but unclassified
information to the end user. Designed and developed the required
infrastructure for text mining to Concept Chain Graph store and modules to
facilitate traditional and novel IR tasks. Responsible for software
architecture of the system. Designed and implemented initial versions of UI. This
work is sponsored by NSF grant (IIS-0325404) and a research grant from the
FAA (032-G-009). |
|
Graduate
Level Projects. August 2003 – December 2004 |
|
A text mining project on Blogs, Classifier
for hyperlinks using Support Vector Machines, Web Services for weather
information, Fully functional IR system based on Vector Space Model. The
tools used include Apache Jakarta Lucene, libSVM, Protégé, Globus Tool
Kit, SUBDUE, NS2 etc. |

MetLife
Disability 2.0 June and July 2003 |
|
I joined the project when it was in the design phase. The project gave me invaluable knowledge about Apache Struts, Apache Ant, NetBeans and made me familiar with IBM DB2. My responsibilities were: Proof of concepts (POCs), Writing and reviewing program specification documents, Analyzing and modifying the existing eServices architecture for better performance and removal code redundancy, Adding two new eServices in the package, Creating and populating the whole database, Code review, and Carrying out all miscellaneous enhancements to the earlier version |

MetLife Disability
1.1 March 2003 to May 2003 |
|
This was my first “live” project. It was the next version of MetLife’s Short term disability claim intake (STDCI) 1.0 and consisted of two different modules. First was to expose all the functionality of STDCI 1.0 as SOAP calls and second was to make the MyBenefits portal section 508 compliant. I worked on both the modules. I had an opportunity to learn a lot about the J2EE framework, SSL, JSSE, Apache Axis, SOAP, Struts, Section 508, IBM Home Page Reader and Bobby analysis tool. My contribution in configuring the development environment (iPlanet 4.0 and WebSphere 4.0) for SSL communication, suppressing Apache Axis logging as well as resolving the problem of SOAP call for WebSphere 4.0 was greatly appreciated by the Onsite Coordinator of the project and Assistant Project Manager, Mr. Mohan Khyadi. |

GistX - Automatic
Summarizer. - August 2001 to April 2002 |
|
The project was to develop a
general domain automatic summarizer for English text documents. It was
a completely research oriented project sponsored by Applied Artificial
Intelligence Department of Center for development of Advanced Computing
(C-DAC), Pune. My project guide was a renowned linguist Dr. Mahendra Kumar Pandey. I
along with my group developed the summarizer, which could generate reasonable
summaries without any lexicon or deep understanding of the document. We used
Maximum Marginal relevance to decide the likelihood of a sentence to be a
part of summary. The development tool used was VC++ and Microsoft Access was
the backend to hold dynamically generated data. |

Internet Selling System. November 2002 |
|
The aim was to develop an interactive selling system using Selectica technology. I developed a web based interactive selling system for a computer vendor. Business logic was incorporated into a knowledgebase, which was run using Selectica's configurator. The user interface was through Selectica's application page tags. It also included basic quoting and carting functionality. The advanced version of the project was developed to have a wide array of quoting functionality and user hierarchy. |

Enhancement
and modification of software June 2001 |
|
This project gave me an opportunity
to understand and implement many software engineering concepts such as
requirement gathering, testing, maintenance, reverse engineering etc. I did
the project for BVCOE’s examination section. The
examination section had a set of programs written in C to manage all
examination related tasks. But as the number of students in the institution
grew and the |

Agency Management System. February
2001 to April 2001 |
|
I developed this prototype for Omkar Employment Services, a placement agency in Pune. The front-end was VB and backend was Oracle. |
|
Bank Management
System February 2000 to April
2000 |
|
As a part of our curriculum I developed this mini system using COBOL to implement basic banking functionality. |
