Getting Started With Cadence

Working with Cadence requires some familiarity with Unix & X-windows. If you are not familiar, you may end up with lots of problems in debugging your setup & running the tutorials mentioned below. We strongly suggest making yourself comfortable with them.....otherwise why not magic itself!

    Tools Useful for the Project

  •  Virtuoso Schematic Composer
  •  Virtuoso Layout Editor.
  •  Affirma Spectre circuit Simulator.
  •  NCSU Design Kit

  •   This is not a tool, but contains all the technology related rule files & libraries which are indispensible for your project. Look at the tutorials section on how to become familiar with this design kit.

    cdsdoc

This is the  cadence online documentation. This is more or less like an encyclopedia, which you will take time to get used to. You can start this by typing  "cdsdoc &" at the unix prompt. This contains all the tutorials necessary for you to start using the above softwares.
