Rapaport" Subject: Reading Journals To: CSE575-FA07-LIST@LISTSERV.BUFFALO.EDU ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Subject: Reading Journals ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Over the course of the next couple of weeks, I'd like to start collecting your reading journals to see how you're doing with them, because, after all, they are part of what I will be grading you on :-) I will look them over, and probably merely indicate that your journal is: perfectly adequate = A (= "above average") acceptable = C (= "average") not sufficient = D (= "below average") missing = F These letter grades will then be used in my final grade calculation as explained on the syllabus: http://www.cse.buffalo.edu/~rapaport/575/F07/syl.html#grading I will also collect the journals again at the end of the semester. So that I'm not overwhelmed with 22 journals to have to lug to my office, I'll collect them in installments, according to the following schedule: Thursday, Oct. 18: Boomer Chen Kim Robinson White Tuesday, Oct. 23: Cao Couchman Mukhtar Salazar Shenoy Zhang Thursday, Oct. 25: Casey D'Alessandro Olson Settembre Zorn Tuesday, Oct. 30: Cheon Jamloki Kang Perry Purnima Sitzman If you are keeping your journal in a looseleaf/3-ring binder, please leave the binder at home and just clip the pages together (binders are kind of hard to manage, especially if they're thick). If you are keeping your journal online, please print it out for me. If you are keeping it online in some format that does not easily lend itself to printing, please think of some convenient way for me to examine it on my Mac. But please do not email it to me. Whatever you hand in to me: Please make sure that it is somehow clipped/stapled/bound together (in a folder if it's really long), and that your name is clearly printed on the front. If you have questions, please let me know.
