We have completed our review of applications for Fall 2004, except for some known special cases. E-mails regarding TA offers, the waiting-list for TA offers, and admissions without aid have gone out as of March 12th, and hardcopy letters with a reply-by sheet are going out. Status has been reflected online. We may-or-may-not be able to send out individual hardcopy rejection letters.
Out of 902 online entries and about 700 completed applications, we have accepted 50 to the PhD program and 210 to the MS program. We have been able to make only 26 offers with financial aid (thus far), owing to increased interest by our own students in the PhD program and our desire to support them. There are 17 on a waiting list for aid.
Watch this space for answers to common questions, such as: () Can I defer my admission? Answer: Yes---the University allows one deferral request, either for one semester or got one year. To defer, send e-mail to both myself (regan@cse.buffalo.edu) and the Admissions Secretary, Ms. Yvette D. Gilbo (ydgilbo@cse.buffalo.edu). State your intentions clearly in the e-mail. If you've been offered a TA-ship and wish to defer that, we cannot guarantee it upon your arrival.
