Philosophical Works

Hastamalakiya Shlokas Tradition says that Shankaracharya once met a deaf and dumb boy named Giri. When he asked Giri who he was, the boy spontaneously burst forth with these verses which give the essence of Vedanta. He then took sannyasa from Shankaracharya under the name Hastamalaka. Hastamalakacharya was said to have been the first Jagadguru of the Puri Matha. GIF
