Here are some resources to learn about the "grid" and the terascale computing. Joseph Bordogna, the Deputy Director of NSF, in his recent Distinguished Speaker lecture at ASEE 2003, mentioned that NSF has identified "Terascope" as one of the priority areas of research. Terascope deals with compute grid infrastructure and tera-scale computing.
