New Building Groundbreaking Ceremony

Welcome to the University at Buffalo's Department of Computer Science and Engineering's (CSE) groundbreaking/alumni event web page! CSE has some exciting news to share with you about upcoming activities in April, 2009. You can Register online for any of these events.

This concept scheme shows the new $75M Engineering building viewed from the northwest. The edge of Ketter Hall is visible on the right, just west of the new building. In 2008, UB demolished the trailers that had occupied this site. Ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 2011.

Groundbreaking

The University at Buffalo is committed to fostering the advancement of technology. As a result, we're building a new Computer Science & Engineering-Electrical Engineering (CSE-EE) building. In honor of the new CSE-EE building, we will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at the University at Buffalo Amherst Campus beginning Friday, April 24 at 3:00 PM. We hope you will be able to join us and meet many of our graduates who are traveling from afar to attend this special event.

Graduate Student Conference

Each spring, our CSE graduate students offer a Graduate Student Conference (GSC). This year, the GSC is scheduled on Friday, April 24 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Ramada Hotel & Conference Center (right behind the University campus). There is no cost to attend the conference. We enthusiastically encourage you to visit the conference to learn about our graduate students' exciting research initiatives.

Alumni Dinner

We will host an alumni dinner on Friday, April 24 at 6:00 PM at the Ramada.

Symposium

The next day, please attend our alumni symposium on Saturday, April 25, from 9:00AM to 4:00 PM. Look forward to guest appearances by CSE and University at Buffalo alums. We have reserved a block of rooms at the Ramada for our out-of-town alums. Mention 'The University at Buffalo' when reserving your room to receive the conference discount.

Keep in Touch

We hope to keep you informed of our research activities, faculty and student accomplishments, and future CSE events. We also hope you will have the opportunity to attend the very special CSE events scheduled for April 24 and 25.
