- Assignment 4 is out. Due on Friday, Dec 05.
- A sample "Simpella" implementation is posed. I make absolutely no guaranttee that the program is bug-free. I was hoping that you guys can catch the bugs for me.

- Please send an email to the TA Zhaofan Ding telling her your partnership in project phase 1. A lot of people, surprisingly, did not specify project partner in the submission.

- Please attend the lecture on Monday Oct 20. I will discuss the project 2, which could be somewhat confusing to read on your own.
- There will be no recitations next week either, except for the one on Monday (which we did not have due to a break on Monday last week).

- Project 1 grading criteria is posted.
- Thechoer binary is posted. Feel free to play around with it. I make no promise that the sample is bug-free. The binary was compiled under SunOS, which should run on Solaris too.
- The midterm exam is on (next) Friday Oct 17. We will cover every thing up to the lecture on Friday Oct 10. The exam is open book, open note. Computing devices are not allowed. The exam is 50 minute long. Please be there on time.

- Recitation assignments:
- Zhaofan Ding: Monday 9:00-9:50am
- Xiang Yu: Tuesday 10:00-10:50am
- Jie Xu: Friday 2:00-2:50pm
- This is only for next week, and only for those who are in the Monday recitation: since there is no recitation on labor day, those who are in the Monday recitation should try to attend either the one on Tuesday or the one on Friday, in order not to miss some materials on Unix programming that the TAs are going to cover. If you feel comfortable with file I/O under UNIX, you can skip the recitation.
