The proposal should be typed, with your name, date, course #, and recitation day at the top, just like for a position paper. The proposal should be brief, giving me an idea of what you want to write about, and it should include a brief bibliography of materials you want to include. I will look it over, make suggestions, and let you know if the topic is approved. If I approve it, you should begin the research right away. If I don't approve it, you can revise your proposal and resubmit it. Whether or not I approve it, if you decide at the last minute (i.e., on the day of the final exam) that you really don't want to write the term paper, that's OK. Just let me know.
