You are invited to attend ACM Conference on Bioinformatics, Computational Biology and Biomedicine (ACM BCB). ACM BCB is the main flagship conference of the ACM SIG Bioinformatics. ACM BCB 2012 is in its third year, building upon the success of ACM BCB 2010 in Niagara Falls and ACM BCB 2011 in Chicago.  Each of the conferences had about 200 attendees.

The conference will provide a premier forum for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research encompassing disciplines of computer science, mathematics, statistics, biology, bioinformatics, and biomedicine. The tentative program is available here.

Examples of the topics that will be covered include:

Genomics and Evolution; Protein and RNA Structures, Protein Function, and Proteomics; Computational Systems Biology; Next Generation Sequencing Data; Medical Informatics and Translational Bioinformatics; Cross-Cutting Computational Methods; Bioinformatics Infrastructure; Immunoinformatics and Computational Immunology; Computational Epidemiology; Image Analysis; Knowledge Representation and Inference; Integration of Biomedical Data; Databases, Knowledgebases; Ontologies; and Text Mining and Natural Language Processing

The program also includes invited talks by
1. Ying Xu (Georgia), Genomic Location is Information: Towards Understanding the Organizational Principles of Bacterial Genomes
2. Martha L. Bulyk  (Harvard),  Transcription Factors and DNA Regulatory Elements

3. Pierre Baldi, (UC Irvine), Machine Learning Approaches in Proteomics

four workshops on
1. Immunoinformatics and Computational Immunology Workshop (ICIW 2012)
2. Biological Network Analysis and Applications in Translational and Personalized Medicine (BNA-M 2012)
3. 1st International Workshop on Parallel and Cloud-based  Bioinformatics and Biomedicine (ParBio 2012)
4. 1st International Workshop on Robustness and Stability of  Biological Systems and Computational Solutions

The  conference hotel is conveniently situated in the heart of downtown Orlando, Florida. It is ten miles from Orlando International Airport and just a short drive from the Orlando Orange County Convention Center. The hotel provides a range amenities and services, including: swimming pool, fitness center, business center, meeting room, and high-speed wireless Internet access. We have negotiated a special and very competitive rate of $169/night with the hotel (this includes breakfast). Also, all rooms in the hotels are suites. See here for details

Registration information is available here.

We look forward to seeing you in Orlando this October!
